Is a tarp safe as temporary roof for run?

I have to wait two weeks for the steel roofing for my run. Is a tarp safe as a temporary covering for the roof? I have racoons, foxes and hawks as predators. They will only be out in the run during the day.

The way I look at it - it is better than nothing. It will certainly deter aerial predators, and the foxes/racoons, etc are more likley to reach through or dig under than to climb up and in (not saying they won't, but that it is a less likley means of entry for them) - and the risk from those predators is reduced by daytime only use/exposure. All I can say is *I* would not hestiate to use it as a temporary solution.

I think you'll be fine with your tarp for a few days, as long as you can lock them up securely at night.
