Is a Welsummer Rooster good?

Hi, I had a few questions. How can you find out a chickens weight? I have a silkie, but would like to know how much it weighs so I can make sure I am not getting a rooster that is too big. Also, does anyone have experience with the Welsummer rooster or does anyone no how big they get and if they are friendly? Anything will help, Thanks!

Get a kitchen scale.
The Wellie cock I had was pretty darn big, but was a good one.
