Is anybody out there?

My son is 10 and he STILL wakes up every night

night terrors...

I'm still waiting for him to sleep thru the night...after all these years.

Buster: hope the little guy feels better soon

Henrietta: Try mixing equal parts rubbing alcohol and water - then put 1 drop into the ear that hurts and let it rest for a moment. I usually do it on a Qtip. I dont know if you have an "old fashioned" drug store by you but we do and they have "Ear Cones" made out of a paper/wax mixture - you light them on fire (sounds tragic I know..but they work!) and set it into your ear canal - the warmth of it draws out the pain somehow. I dont know HOW they work but they DO. Its an old Colonial thing they did way back when that is now back into mainstream treatment.

Thanks Henny. I rested on the couch a little while. Now I'm not sure if the pain is my ear of my jaw. It's a little strange. I have a warm rice bag on it while I rest and that is helping some.

Thanks Deb! He gets better at times. He doesn't have night terrors but I think he has bad dreams a lot. I go in, give him a hug, and he's fine. Hopefully he'll grow out of it.

Mine is cutting three 6 year molars simultaneously. He's just continually grumpy. He's not waking up at night but I don't think he's sleeping particularly well.

Thank goodness none of my four kids wake during the night. It would be just fine if they did though. I used to have a foster child that would wake with night terrors and I would get up with him and just hold him while he screamed. He was 10 months old. It was like he didn't even know I was there.

Nightmares and night terrors aren't fun, but being the person those little ones call for and want to come hold them is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
