Is anyone else getting really scared?

Folks are pulling their money out of the market to save money because Obama will win. It's that simple.

It's called Capital Gains TAX. Sell it and take it out now and save big bucks because if you wait until Obama is president, you will lose much of what you gain to the Capital Gains TAX that Obama has promised to put in place sometime after January 21st, 2009.

You area correct, you don't get it. Folks that are voting for Obama don't have a clue. I DON'T have tax shelters. That is what many people think and its simply NOT TRUE!

I have 7 children. I can't afford to pay more taxes. If Obama wins, I will have no choice but to lay off my employees and work less. It's that simple. My kids will have to work and that will be good for them.

Well, that's why we have so many kids, to put them to work, right?

Ok, try this on... what if your church increased your tithe to 15% but only to the people who could really afford it. Do you intentionally make less money, then?

Thanks for this, by the way. They must all be the same people that voted for Bush the last two times, eh? You must be the only one who really knows!

I've been reading threads and visiting sights since 1998 and never have I read such a truer post than this one above.
It's a shame that Washington is full of what's there and people like you, who work daily are not running this country.
When did the common working class person become the minority?
We've been forgotten!

As for the rich paying more taxes...touchy subject. I am by no means filty rich....but I am what I consider to be financially stable. I do have money in the market. In fact, I've "lost" half of it this past couple of weeks. No doubt what I've lost is more than many make yearly working a decent job. Am I concerned. Yes, very much so. To the point of taking it out and moving it around? No..why, because I worked for it. Long hours, weeks and sometimes months with no days off. It was not given to me. The majority of the "rich" don't have 8 hour works days and weekends off.

Kudos to The Chicken Lady! YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD!

I think this whole point is moot; the end of the world as we know it is coming December 21, 2012 lol. That is the date of the end of days according to the Mayan calendar and they had a much better understanding of math and astronomy than we do today. Incidentally, while in my astronomy class our teach was talking about the next massive solar storm which is predicted to release at the end of 2012. Coincidence? Maybe not ...

Oh and I would just like to state that I am sick and tired of hearing that China is taking over, China will own us, China this, China that ... As a Pacific Islander of Chinese decent and the wife of a Chinese man I find all of this xenophobia raring it's ugly head again in this day and age to be really offensive. Asians have always seemed to become the whipping boy of this country when thing go bad, and now that China has finally recovered enough from what we and a global coalition of countries did to it to force it into our servitude for many years we are afraid. China has all of the things we used to, and everyone in this country is shivering in their boots because we know what we tend to do when we are in the top dog position globally. I say just get over it, it doesn't even matter what my ancestry is I am an American and even I'm not so blind to think that we would always be on top. Everything in life is a cycle, sometimes you are up and it just so happens that right now we are on a downturn. Maybe everyone (excluding us wonderful BYC people who already have a head-start on providing our own food for our families) will stop being so pampered and learn the value of a hard day's work getting their hands dirty just to enjoy a simple meal.

AMEN! We need to become accustomed to hardship like our grandparents were. It builds character.

vfem, in another thread, said this:

Self sufficient is the way to go. No one is going to come to our rescue... not the government, not big business and surely not the people who can't afford to make their own way. Its up to us and our family and neighbors to survive.

Am I scared? Yes, I have my moments where it seems the water is just swirling around the toilet bowl and we're about to go under. I have been more scared than I've ever been lately. However, I can do nothing about gov't, the stock market, gas or food prices, etc. I have no debt except my small house pymt but other than a small retirement acct, which just lost all its gains since we put it in plus some, we have nothing except this piece of property. My DH said we are going to sit up here on our hill with our garden, fruit trees and our chickens and let them all go crazy down below, but we'll just dig in our heels and mind our own business and survive. Just survive and protect what we do have and control what we can control. And hope one day soon, the world will be back on its axis, spinning the right direction.

Have Faith. The old world order is crumbling, yes, because it is godless and cannot be sustained without Him.

The new world order is being built bit by bit at the grassroots and will be there when the time comes!
