No one is attacking you. You are taking things too personally. Sometimes we all do. Just relax and maybe read a different thread for a while.

OK, so I'd have to say that even though I'm mostly feeling glad to have done some preparations and also feeling eager to learn what more I can do (there are some great threads here that share ideas on how to save money and be more self-sufficient), I admit that I have also lost a little sleep. My biggest concern is losing my part-time employment and not being able to feed my animals. I'm more worried about them than myself.

But I was thinking last night that this is sort of like winter for a garden . . . it is a time of hardship that will result in a cleaner slate. That isn't to say it won't get messy or that the garden will be planted better afterwards, though. However, I think if we are vigilent that maybe this is necessary for a brighter new beginning.

i'm realizing that there are folks with different opinions here, based on all the private msgs i've been getting from likeminded folks. They just don't speak up anymore because i have a feeling they've been beaten down here, too much. Maybe it's because i'm new and don't know any better, yet. Maybe i think something SHOULD be said and no one else is...No one wants to be the only one standing up against something but someone has to, right? How do things ever get done?

Fatguyaz -- I think you will find that all opinions are accepted here, and that all do speak up. However, we all need to be respectful of other people's beliefs and opinions and also about other people's tolearance for bad language (that one has been hard for me to learn).

It is really easy for people to overreact to something that wasn't necessarily intended to be an insult, so it is important to choose your words wisely.

Things happen if both sides would stop the blame game and the back stabbing maybe we could all relax alittle. The way i see it if the republicans didnt like what they democrats did why didnt they change it if the democrats didnt like it change it. (Oh I forgot they tried) Here the problem the way i see it. All these people in Washington have forgotten how tough it can be. If anyone of them tried to live as most of us do they couldn't do it. Sorry but I know McCain has never had to worry about either paying the mortgage or going to the doctors, I think Obama has probablly forgotten as well. They can both stand up there and spout new plans but they don't have to llive with the results do they. We should challange them both live spend the rest of this campaign living on our budgets with our problems then maybe they would be ready to lead and help this country.I became an independent when the democrats let our republican governor take our primary votes away Best thing i ever did no junk mail

I do believe that McCain knows what its like to be without a Doctor (5 1/2 years worth)! But that was when he was in the military and I know what some of you think of them. Gonna stop before I get started and receive another dreadful PM from a mod.

I believe America needed a wake up call, people in their gas guzzers, homes they couldn't afford or didn't need, pulling out their equity, credit cards, a nation of mass consumers, spoiled, greedy, always wanting more, too many give away programs,no understanding of the market, we need to wake up and deal with it. Change is coming and it's about time, and I don't mean Nobama. Pay cash , if you don't have it you don't need it.
