Is anyone else hatching all winter long?

I am doing the same thing. That way the pullets should be laying by spring or close. I am just not sure what to do with the roo's, don't mind if they are for food, just don't want to do it myself!

Still setting chicken eggs, just to check the fertile on these new pullets

I am going to continue to hatch all through the winter. I figure that way I will have started pullets in the spring. And since I am going to the swaps I think people will love buying started pullets in April!! What do you all think? Am I crazy?

I just can not imagine keeping chickens in the house for SO long.
Winter goes and goes and goes till APRIL here.

There are tooooo many steps in that program, you'd never make it.

I really want to keep hatching, my problem is I have no where to winter them. I think that I will hold off on anymore hatches till spring.

I've got my first in the bator right now. I already spoke to my hubby about it and he's all for me hatching over the winter. We just figured we would only try to hatch out 6 at a time. That way we can keep them in the house without much of a problem for a month or so before we move them outside. My big coop will be done by then and an area will be set up for the babies.

However
I do reserve the right to change my mind at any time seeing as I am a woman

I just built my 'bator so I can do a small test hatch now of seramas from Vicki. Vicki assures me they'll be great house chickens over winter.

I want to be ready to buy eggs for a bigger hatch in Spring, so might as well play around at it now.

(note: this logic worked on my husband. feel free to recycle it for your own use
