Is anyone else having problems with Purina crumble?

Haven't ever had this problem myself but I primarily use the local brand out our local co-op. I support the co-op as much as possible. When I have to pick up a bag from TSC i tend to get the dumor layer feed and haven't run into any problems with it either.

I understand the difficulties in transportation but if you have a co-op that you can reasonably get to I would highly recommend them. At least for me and my area, there is much better customer service, better atmosphere, and more often than not better products. We pay maybe a $0.25 to $0.50 more a bag but it is well worth it. Most co-ops are owned by the local farmers through a membership so the products and money stays local.

Just a thought and a plug for your local farmers co-op!

On a side note, from reading through this, I assume a lot of people use a pan or dish to feed out of or throw it on the ground? I was using an old pie sized pan at first but was loosing a ton of feed to rain and the chicks scratching it out onto the ground. I bought one of the PVC type vertical feeders off of Amazon and it is probably saving me 25% or more feed. I only have one which usually holds enough feed for 2-2.5 days for my 8 chickens.
