Is anyone hatching on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day???

I have 3 pekin duck eggs due on Christmas Eve!! There are 2 more duck and 4 goose eggs in the bator, but I don't think they are doing anything.

I Have been reading the thread about shipped eggs and it is depressing me !
15 shipped eggs due to hatch the 26 th !
This is my first try and it sounds like I should not have gotten shipped eggs.

It say's that you should be able to tell if the membrane's intact by candeling before you put them in. I have wellsummers and they are to dark to see that. The only thing I see now is it's darker up on top which IM assuming is the air sac.

They should be lighter on the top, not darker. I have had good and bad luck with shipped eggs. It really is a gamble. I wouldn't get them if I could find what I'm looking for locally. Most people around here just breed chickens to get more chickens! They don't care about specifics.

I candled my BBS orps tonight...day 8. I had a hard time seeing into some of them. The shells seemed really dense. Anyway, just doing a quick peak, it looked like about half had good veining/movement. My "surprise" eggs are too dark to see into. And, too early to candle, so I'll wait on those...just day 4. I have a couple black sexlinks from my BR hen/RIR roo that I've set, just to test out the fertility rate. They look pretty good.

I REALLY want to have a good hatch this time. I'm so excited about having these eggs. The PO really messed up my last hatch...many eggs were scrambled. Hopefully, this one will be much better...please...

I will have some of my own WC Black Polish eggs, Silkie, and Quail eggs hatching around christmas day. Today and tomorrow I should have some EE's from KellyHM hatching. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just hatched 4 out of 6 eggs from crazychickengirl so that renewed my faith in shipped eggs. My prior hatch was Araucana's from Gary and only 1 out of 20 eggs hatched, I guess between the post office and that lethal gene things didnt work out too much, but his packaging was impecable and there were no visibly damaged eggs. Unless I get them from FLorida or lower GA or al i probably wont order any more eggs til at least February.
