Adorable! Are those call ducklings? I have some hatching to. Day 26 for me. So far I have 9 out of 13 eggs, and 2 more ducklings zipping out.

I now have all 4 silkie eggs pipped. Still day 20 until 7:30pm tonight. I bet somebody will be out by 8pm tonight.

with 7 more piping. Could someone tell me when you actually call "zipping" so I can use the right terms?!?

From my understanding "zipping" is when they are making their way around in the shell-like a zipper-making the shell easy to just push off in two pieces--they poke with their beaks around the inside of the egg as they turn creating a split.

That is zipping! It is very plain when you see it. A hole becomes a line. I now have 19 chicks. All my eggs hatched that were remaining in the bator. I culled 5 eggs earlier because they weren't progressing. I am so thrilled. I was so nervous because I had no clue what I was doing. It may be beginners luck, but whatever it is I'll take it and be so thankful. Now I just hope we have more pullets than roosters!

Any one know of a way to tell this early?
