Is ANYONE having flea problems besides me ?

I use Capstar from the feed store. It starts killing fleas in 30 minutes. But it only works for like 24 hours. It does work though.

I didn't read all the replies (sorry) but the only thing that is working here right now is Comfortis. We have a beagle too and he sleeps with the oldest DD so it's very important that he not bringing any bugs to bed with him..... Frontline and Advantage both stopped working for us....

It says you can do it everyday but that would get mighty expensive. It comes 6 in a box. I cant remember how much it cost. It only kills the fleas though and not eggs. You can use it with other flea preventatives though. The dieing fleas run around and make the dogs go crazy for a few hours, thats normal.

I've had good results from Advantage.

Bayer Advanced 12 Month Tree & Shrub Insect Control Concentrate....active ingredient Imidacloprid 1.47%...comes in a blue quart plastic bottle...WalMart $18.00
Once a month, rub on belly or apply to back from shoulders to tail with a syringe (no needle) just as you would Frontline or Advantage. Do not dilute. Rub in well so that it contacts the skin.

10 lbs or less > 2cc
11 to 20 lbs > 5cc
21 to 45 lbs > 10cc
46 to 65 lbs > 15cc
66 to 90 lbs > 20cc
over 90 lbs > 25cc

DO NOT USE ON CATS...dogs/canine 6 months or older....do not use on dogs that are nursing puppies simply because the puppies will lick the insecticide. If your flea problem is extreme, you can up each dose by 2cc for the first 2 months.

We use this on our rescue dogs at work & recommended by our vet because it works & it's inexpensive. We don't have flea problems.

So I asked him very nicely to treat his house and pets and cars. Eventualy the kids said he did and the fleas stopped you just never know where the source is. We didn't have any trouble after that.
