is anyone UTD on local laws reguarding roosters? akron ohio

i have 6 hens a rooster. he is beautiful and has alrady done his job. my bared rock rooster killed a mink that snuck into the coop before it killed any hens! yes he crows but not as much as neighborhood dogs bark. i have had severl people saying i need to get rid of him but we are all attached. someone help >__<

If there is no ordinance prohibiting chickens, there is no reason to get rid of him! He is part of the flock/family and sounds like he is doing a great job! If you hood him, he won't crow while the hood is on - maybe a compromise?
