Is Big Red almost ready to lay her first egg?

Pretty egg!
Red and I thank you so much!

Now I await the first egg of Dove, sold as an "Americana". She is such a drama queen and makes awfully loud noises that sound like warnings or threats. Gets everyone else all riled up too. It is probably going to be even more nerve wracking for me. She just squatted upon sight of the rooster when I let him in the run this evening.

Love Easter Eggers! :love

She took the day off yesterday but just laid her third egg. I saw her do it this time and it is 9 whole grams heavier than the first 2.

I have a video of right after she pushed it out but have to get ready for work now. 😮‍💨 Maybe I will post it later but I kinda sang in the video so maybe not. Lol

Dove finally laid her first but it was rough feeling, thin shelled, and apparently not easy.

She has been eating a lot of oyster shell, at least several visits to the cup per day.

I hope it gets easier for her and smooth shelled like Red's eggs. Poor baby.

I need to deworm everyone because I saw worms in Dove's poop yesterday. Could the worm load be doing this?

Poor Dove cant catch a break between having a sore on her leg, worms, and the rough egg.
