Yikes! Well I just go to the browse tabs and choose hens and roos based on coloring alone, it is a little complicated and overwhelming at first...sorry if u can't use it and it just makes u feel dumb

Agreed! I know E/E is extended black at this point, and things with lav generally stand for lavender, that's about it, but I can use it using the browse option and getting the color of chicken I want, and also I know how to properly save and name my chickens for later crosses. The chicken calc is how I learned that extended/dominant black is VERY dominant, like if u cross anything with pure black then their chicks are all pure black, it's only one or two generations down the road until u start getting something other than that usually..It's like dealing with a foreign language

I have spent enough hours learning chicken genetics that I understand most of what the genes are, but I remember when I first started it was horribly confusing.
Well, a lot of black crosses are all black, but a lot also have leakage. Buff x black and laced x black are two examples that almost always have leakage.
