Howdy,
As of this evening my beloved bantam hen has been defecating what appears to be watery blood. All the research I've done says this is a symptom of the deadly coccidiosis bacteria but she is showing no other signs of illness.
Her appetite is verocious as ever and she's acting normal, drinking water, her comb and wattles are still a rosy red, and she laid an egg yesterday (she lays every other day give or take). I also fed her a tomato this morning but I don't know if that would make her stool red.
If anyone has ever had something similar happen or dealt with coccidiosis before please let me know if I need to be worried. I love my little lady very much and would be so distraught is something happened to her.
