Is buying organic defeating the purpose if it is Cargill?

I am sure you checked the Nature's Best Website www.organicfeeds.com, as they are pretty well distributed in MA. Granted, some that say they carry Nature's Best might not carry chicken feed. I know nothing about Cape Cod, but found the following listings.

Cape Cod Feed & Supply in West Barnstable

Sandwich Agway in East Sandwich

For Birds Only in Falmouth

Happy Dog of Cape Cod in S. Yarmouth

Don't know if any of these are close to you, but you can check them out if you haven't already.

I think some things get taken out of context on both sides. I see things from both points of view. I prefer to buy local produce, but I sure do buy produce from the grocery store too so I can't say I don't need those farmers who supply "big agri". My goal certainly is to be able to supply our own produce or be able to get everything locally, but it's not realistic for us right now. I am quite grateful for the local mill for our chicken feed, though I would like to start mixing our own too.

I did want to say though that I have been known to make comments about nursing simply because typing one handed is tough and I'll sometimes say something like "Sorry for errors, nursing at the keyboard" or whatnot. I think that's all that was meant by the nursing comment. I actually am nursing at the keyboard right now too.

It's the only time I get a chance to check message boards, otherwise I am chasing a one year old around.
