Nothing wrong with a bit of the old avian addiction :oops:! It seems a bit crazy that you have catalogues for buying chicks. We don't have anything like that over here. We have hatcheries but that is for more commercial egg and meat hens rather than pure breeds and such.
I have a cochin banty sat on 6 eggs at the moment. 4 araucanas and 2 cuckoo Maran Cross araucana. I'm hoping to get some nice dark green eggs! They are due on March 8. :fl it all goes well and they're all hens!

I've gotten I think three catalogs already! One from Metzer Farms, one from Stromberg, and I think one from Meyer as well.

But I'm safe because I don't really buy from hatcheries anymore, lol.

Can't wait to see chick pictures when they hatch :pop

It's my first time using a broody so I'm quite excited! I just hope the eggs are fertile. The Maran eggs are from neville, my araucana roo. It's his first time too! So I'm hoping he has got the hang of it! The araucana eggs are from a friend so they should be good! :fl

It Does even one.... in the middle of the night she will get spooked and run about her paddock.... Black horse Black night... Who ever was walking in the bushes would think twice about getting any closer.

Just in from the Post Office. Can u spot 6 silkies, 2 Salmon Faverolles and 1 EE among all those packing peanuts?
