Is BYC Experiencing Cabin Fever?

When I'm not wrangling chickens, I drive HGV's (semis or 8 wheelers) and this happens to me everyday. I'm shocked at how much risk people take to get in front of me. I've learnt over the years to pre-empt what traffic is going to do but some drivers still find new and ingenuitive ways of trying to hurt themselves.
today I was changing lanes at 70 and some Ashat decided he wanted by me cause i wasnt doing 80... Then he almost missed his off ramp and had to cut across two lanes to get to it....

I dont care if they kill themselves off.... I just dont want to see it...

Yep where I live I can come to a stop sign and decide which way to turn and NO ONE will know .... or care.... how long I took.

LOL... dad ticked someone off once and flipped him off.... Dad drove around him and Blew him a kiss.... I am amazed he got away with it...

Hes the one that taught me to use the force of the car to drift around corners... and to thorw it into a slide with out rolling it over. Pretty good when your first car was a Corvair. Saved my life at least once.

I used to date a Truck Driver.... Long Haul he was gone for six weeks and back for one... He was one of the few that owned his own Truck and Trailer. He worked for a home moving company.

He had just bought a brand new set of tires for his trailer... Here the right hand turns are the big danger in the city. They have a sign showing what can happen if you try to pass on the right.... He was half way through his turn when he felt a bump... He had just glanced at the lights... looked back but his trailer didnt feel right. Then he noticed the car...

He jumped out went around and two of his trailer tires were on top of a Brand new Toyota Camry... The driver was un hurt but furious... He had just driven off the lot...

John was happy he was un hurt but furious because the new tires were 1200 dollars a piece... brand new Michelens....

Funny. I always see that total for members, but I never see more than a hundred or so members on line when I'm on. I wonder where they all are?

Michelins! They are the holy grail of tyres here too! A cemex driver in London did the same but over here it's the left turn that causes the blind spot, unfortunately he caught a cyclist. He dragged her twenty yards down the road before he realised. It caused a massive reassessment of trucks in cities. All new trucks are fitted with nearside cameras and all cemex lorries now have a window at the bottom of the passenger door.

yep.... It amazes me at all how you guys can work the inner older parts of cities... I watched on pull across the lanes and Pinpoint Jack knife and back up to do an off load... Just a little driveway with Bollards on one side and parked cars on the other... It was just long ennough to get a whole rig in.... Without a spotter. Talk about blind parking..

I have a heck of a time with just a horse trailer... Good at backing straight for hitching or parking but Jackknifing on Purpose..... Shudder.

I know I know Get it goin the way you want it then follow the trailer in... But :bow

Then there is one company that is a produce supplier.... Mann Those guys are suicidal... 70-80 on the interstate and youd better get out of the way on a hill. Because they will pass everyone up.

Crazy thing is there is a part of that road that gets 60 mph Gusts of wind from the side... Amazing thing seeing a big rig on its side....

When you've driven them long enough it's like second nature. You know exactly where you are with it and where its going to go.

You peeps are the safest drivers on the road, imo - followed very closely by motorcycle riders (the normal ones, not the nutters) as the need to anticipate stupidity is top of the agenda (on a bike or a car). I gave dw a running commentary of a few miles driving - what i was seeing, junctions, road conditions etc and she thought i was just being paranoid :th
