Is BYC going to upgrade?

The only one in that group that I keep checked is the Replies to a watched thread.

I already turned it off.

I have that off too. My BYC 'Home Page' is the 'Unread Watched Threads', I just follow everything from there, except tags, so no annoying red number thingys popping up....for some reason those thing bug the heck outta me.

I have to say, I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far every time I come on BYC and it’s still not converted. I’m getting used to it on the other sites, but there are a few things that got lost that I find quite annoying. I completely understand that we have to have supported software for security reasons. But it’s just a shame that some “improvements” are not for the better.

I’m mainly thinking of navigating between pages. Right now, at the top and bottom of each page, we have a row of page numbers that we can click to go directly to a specific page. And there is an arrow to help advance through those numbers if you need to skip through a bunch of pages. In the new format, those page numbers are gone. The only options are “first page” “previous page” “next page” and “last page”. I don’t know why I keep finding reasons to go back and forth through multiple pages, but I seem to use that feature a LOT. And now it’s gone. To advance a bunch of pages, I have to click and load.one.page.at.a.time.

Am I the only person who uses that feature? Is there any way it can be preserved? (Or restored on the other sites?)

That sucks. It was bad enough that we lost the ability to type in a specific page number with the last update.
