We try to save everything, we never intentionally "prune" data like images, etc. The image with the X is what happens when someone hotlinks an image from another site (like photobucket, etc.) using IMG tags instead of uploading it as an attachment, and then the image is deleted from the source site.@CarpCharacin when BYC upgrades does older stuff get dumped somewhat? I see on threads before the last upgrade some things are just an X, where I assume a picture or an emoji was? Just curious.
I have seen those too, and many of them are emojis. Next time you see one, reply to the post and while in the reply, switch to the BB code editor and you should be able to tell if it's a broken picture link or broken emoji.things are just an X, where I assume a picture or an emoji was? I thought we fixed that. When we switched from Huddler to XF, I think the old emojis were updated via a database query to display on XF, but instead of the BYC domain being used, the server IP was used, but I believe that changed, causing them to break.I have seen those too, and many of them are emojis.
you got most, but I still see some. Next time I see one I'll let you know.I thought we fixed that. We ran a query a while back, which I thought corrected it, but if you see any more, point them out. It shouldn't be too difficult to fix.
As recently as last month I was fixing those broken emoji links in the articles.I thought we fixed that.
