Is E.M. Erythromycin safe for chickens?

I got it at petsmart on a friends recommendation. my orpington pullets are sneezing and bugger nostriled.. ive been using vetrx for about 5 days... can i use this erythromycin in chickens water?

What are all her symptoms? Vet rx is just Vicks for chickens, it doesn't actually do anything.

Two pullets, 19 weeks old. Got them a week ago. Day 2 they started sneezing and have yucky runny noses. I did a good coop clean out, so I figured they were just stressed. My ducks are in a seperate coop. they can see each other buy i wont put thm together yet. (quarantine) I asked the breeder if any others of his birds are sick he said no. The vetrx helped a little but they are still sneezing and icky nosed. just a little yellowish snot in their nostrils. but they also breathe through their mouth some of time i think thats not good, right? These are my first chickens , Ive had ducks for seven years and geese for 2 years but not chickens until now. anyway theyre very sweet and lovely I want them to be healthy. Im feeding 20% protein all flock. by nature wise.and some little bits of veggies for treats. Should I use erythromycin?? Its labeled that its for fish but I read an article saying it can help poultry with respiratory infections. I also added ACV with garlic and ginger in their water twice so far. and I also gave some Nutridrench water a couple times this week too. alongside plain water too.

Symptoms could be environmental - make sure they have plenty of ventilation and that conditions are relatively dry, no mold/mildew.

Hard to know what respiratory disease you may be dealing with. Mycoplasma and Infectious Bronchitis can be fairly common. MG is a bacteria like disease and an antibiotic can help relieve symptoms, but of course, there's no cure. Tylan/Tylosin, Tiamulin and Tetracyclines are commonly used to treat MG.
Infectious Bronchitis is a virus, so it would have to run its course. Some do treat with the same antibiotics I mentioned above to help with any secondary infections.

Sounds like you bought some chickens that are sick.
Are you aware that chicken diseases don't usually ever go away?
If you keep these two birds make sure you keep a closed flock so you don't continue to spread whatever it is they have.

If you're in the US every state has a state lab. You can call your state lab and they will walk you through steps on how to get clean samples for testing if you want to know exactly what you're dealing with.

Some chicken diseases' symptoms can be treated with antibiotics but that does not mean the disease will go away.
