Is Ethel really an Eddie?

I have what I believe to be 2 red sex link chickens. They are between 14-16 weeks old. They were bought together from a hardware store that sources from a reputable hatchery, that sells many "breeds" of red sex links. Long story short on the day I bought them they were not sorted by breed like they normally are. In the last week or so one's comb has gotten very red and bigger than the other. The tails are a little different too. I'm looking at the saddle feathers and don't see pointy ones, and both have the same shape hackle feathers. I've included some pics of both. Is the lighter colored one a cockerel?

Happy to report that Ethel is indeed an Ethel. She laid her first egg about 3 weeks ago- green! She was from Hoover’s Hatchery so I think she is one of their Starlight green eggers
