Is hooked beak Genetic?

No, its not crossed and the hook is not very big and I have not trimmed it.
Actually I moved the Golds to their own cage and that is the first time I noticed it. It is transparent.
Evidently it does not interfere with her eating because she is a good size.

But she lays the largest egg. Most every day. I have to keep her.

Well, hopefully one of her eggs is in the bator and if I get any that have hooked beaks Browns or Golds, then I will have to process her.

For now she has a stay of execution.

edited: Good thing I waited. I put them in the new cage 4 days ago. I just checked before dark and none of them have a hooked beak. Evidently Big Bad Bertha did not let her in the sand box. She did always hang out at the other end of the cage. New cage, new sandbox, and a cuttle bone = no more hooked beak. I better check the birds in the other cage tomorrow.

No, I only have Jumbo Browns and the M Golds. No other crosses in there.

The picture I posted was her when she was younger, in the thread about the champayne color, mhwc56 's thread.
