Is Houdini part Spaulding?

A Spalding is any india blue bird that has any green blood in it.. The name spalding comes from the lady Mrs. Spalding that was one of the earlier breeders that crossed the two species. This is going on genotype not phenotype as spalding siblings do not always look alike..This is one of the reasons that the UPA does not use the name emerald as many people were taking advantage of by the way they looked and sold the 3/4 bloods as javas so a lot of people thought they have Javas and really did not. It is suggested that the percentage of green blood be used ie; 1/2,,3/4,, 7/8 ,, 15/16 and, up or down depending on which way your going. It gets hard to tell sometime so you just have to take the word of the breeder. Many people do not like spaldings but many people do not like a lot of things , so do what you like. George
