Is it a bad sign for an internal layer/ egg yolk peritonitis?

Dawg53 has rcommended flushing out the inside of the vent with a weak white vinegar solution and a syringe, to cleanse the area after a hen has a broken egg before. I think that makes a lot of sense. You could use some weak betadine also, or a commercial product.
I think this is a good idea if you can flush the inside of the uterus, otherwise it's just an intestinal enema, right? I've actually done something similar when a hen had a stuck egg... I took one of my catheter tubes and squirted some OB lube into her uterus, but it wasn't easy getting it in there, lol.

I haven't done this before, only read about it, but I would think inserting the syringe and squirting water inside would clean the cloaca since the intestines should have a valve that would stop the flow of the flush inside there. Maybe not, but that is what I understood.

Thank you, Kathy and eggcessive!

I made vinegar water that is mixed with 2 tsp vinegar / 1 cup warm water and insert 6ml vinegar water into her vent. I am not sure if I should put more water inside her.
I will keep updating about her.

I hope she will make it.

When I did enemas on a large 15 pound cat I gave him 30ml, so not sure what I would give a 5-7 pound chicken.

6ml seems like it would be a safe amount.

Thank you, Kathy. I am glad that I didn't put it into her too much.

I will clean her out for 3 days and see what happens.

Thank you again, Kathy!

Thank you, eggcessive!

I missed yours. I inserted 6ml into her. She seems fine and see some good amount of droppings like above and little bit of rotten egg yolk.

I will keep updating with pictures tomorrow.

Thank you for all your help!
