Is it illegal to own a Canadian Goose?

Going by that news report (still haven´t managed to see it) it seems worse in some countries than others...unfortunately common sense doesn´t always come in to play.
You would imagine that common sense would tell the authorities that if the bird isn´t caged and can fly, that it´s free. Unfortunately, depends on the individual who is the "authority".

I´ve seen what appear to be cross-bred Canadas in England, so I imagine that she could breed with yours....quite likely, I reckon...does she already have a male that she hangs around with? Or is it just those ducks?!

No one really cares if you have a wild goose coz every goose owner has or hasent a wild greylag , but then again i live in a completely different country so and its not your fault that wild goose is with your domasticated geese so people would understand

I don´t think many people outside certain areas in Europe have wild greylags.....and it seems that countries like Ireland and Brazil may be more lenient than others...good to be careful. Better safe than sorry, as they say.

Actually yea its better to not keep wild geese if against the law ,but ive permission to keep wild greylags but i have to breed them and get atleast 6 goslings every year

They still think ive 2 pairs of greylags so they expect 3 goslings from both pairs but i secretly have 5 pairs ! they expect me to realease the babies and i do but i keep a male and female every year shhhhh

Its what it said on the form (which i actually need to find ) and the ones i have only lay 4-5 eggs which is disappointing

OK, so is there a programme for increasing the numbes of greylags as such? Or is it just a way of encouraging people to help wildlife?
