Is it just me? Is this the end of the forum I used to enjoy so much?

As much as the random ramblings section can be a source of many reports because people get a little carried away and defensive some days; I would not want to see BYC without it.

And on that note. This time of year we have many new members not used to the interplay between members that goes on here and the rules in general. So a little extra care in wording responses for the next few weeks would make our life easier and help keep the forum more enjoyable for all.

On the OP's topic -

I enjoy random ramblings. BYCers are diverse, kind, and funny folks for the most part, and I see this in posts in all topic areas. There are posts in all areas that I choose to avoid sometimes for various reasons. However, the diversity of the users and topics is at the core of what makes this place special from my perspective.

I can appreciate that some folks may find the diversity distracting, or even feel that it diminishes the focus of the site. I don't share that view, and yet I respect the OP's right to have and express their opinion.

My thought is that the singular focus on chickens would have to come from within - to only read those posts and tune out the others.

But I will admit to hoping that you decide to stay, and that you find, like I have, that as you get to know and enjoy BYCers through poultry-based interactions, you'll find you'll enjoy their random ramblings as well.

I love BYC just the way it is-there's something for everyone, and enough diversity and choices to be able to pick and choose what you want to look at. It's kind of like the t.v. don't like the station-change the channel!

I don't get the whole complaining thing. If you don't like something or an area of discussion, just don't go there. If you complain about it, you've been going there and not liking it. So, go somewhere else.

This place has gotten huge. There are so many avenues on this forum to please almost anyone. Well, maybe not. There is always room for complainers.
