Is it just me or is this Black Maran trio for $75 really Australorps?

On my bi-weekly stroll through Craigslist's Farm and Garden section for my area I saw this ad for a trio of "Black Marans" for 75 big ones in warrensburg MO. Now, I have no interest in these birds personally but I read every chicken ad I see, and I had to do a double take on these photos:

I am no expert on anything chickens, but if looking at Feathersite.com's pictures of Marans, they do have a few pics like those. They could be what they are advertised as.

When I opened the link you put in, I thought they looked a lot like my Australorp, too. I don't keep Marans to be able to tell the difference. I would hope anyone who would spend $75 for them does their homework.

I am not familiar w/ Marans at all, but those look exactly like my Australorps... anyone wanting a marans trio should make sure they know exactly what they're looking for, and what they're actually getting. As the old saying goes, "caveat emptor".

They look like black Australorps to me.
To me Marans are duller then black Australorps colorwise

Very Questionable! That roosters comb looks like my BR roosters comb. Not at all like my Marans roosters combs.
They should have posted egg pictures since they are laying so well!

As far as I know Black Marans dont have the black beetle sheen (like my Black Maran I had) and the pullet combs are too large to be Marans.

Something tells me they are Australorps because of the POOFs on their behinds! It is because of the Orp blood in them.

If I were you, I would not have bought them for that much!

The male looks more like a Maran than the females do.
