I ordered two BLRW from a local hatchery one turned out to be and EE and now I am worried the other isn't lacing correctly. Is this what it's supposed to look like at 2 weeks?

well it is a little of , i'm no expert here but i have hatched some BLRW and i don't think that that one is a blue,it looks more like a splash, but still not all there

The lacing could clean up but being from a hatchery I expect very good lacing..

It looks like the chick in the picture is a young cockerel..

Did you leave out a "wouldn't"?

Yes, that little word changes a lot...

It was meant to say (The lacing could clean up but being from a hatchery I wouldn't expect very good lacing).

Thanks everyone for the input.
I ordered these chicks from an advertised local hatchery. I don't imagine they compare to McMurry, Ideal, or Cackle. I had hoped that a smaller local hatchery would provide nice quality birds but I've been so disappointed. I ordered 4 cornish x and 2 BLRWs. I received a broken cornish and an EE instead of a BLRW. I would have exchanged the EE but it's kind of cute and they wouldn't replace the cornish. I've suspected the BLRW I did receive would be splash since it's so light colored but when the shoulder feathers started coming in looking more like my BR I began to worry more. I sure hope its lacing turns out decent, I had my heart set on a beauty.
Time will tell. Thanks again.

This yearI bought 8 chicks from the Eagle creek feed store by Estacada. 4 BLRW, 2 speckled sussex and 2 partridge cochins.
My babes are about 5 weeks old now and they look much greyer then yours. I bought chicks from allover portland metro area last year and was impressed with these folks. Although Hatchery quality, everyone is healthy and growing. If you type in the words "enoch1056" into your search engine, my husbands flickr photo site will come up and you can click on," chick flick" and the kids will come up. They are about 2 weeks maybe in this little breakfast barrage. You can see what mine look like. Even though I know that one of the four is definitely not a blrw. Good luck, actually they might not any of them end up blrws

Sheesh! Mine do not have any of the gld/red on their feathers yet. I better take a really good look tomorrow. They are all mostly bluer grey with no lacing.

I have hatched out good BLRW from a very good breeder and I am very sorry to say that that does not look like a very good quality blrw. It is a splash and it looks like a roo. The lacing quality will get better as it gets older and will probably get better after it's first molt, but it won't be show quality. Sorry... hope I'm wrong.
