I live in the city limits of Port Huron and want to keep a couple-3 chickens for fresh eggs. Does anyone know if it’s legal to keep chickens inside the city limits of Port Huron?

I just want to make sure first, because I don’t want to spend all the money on the setup and chickens just to have to get rid d of them. ☹️

Your going to have to call the town clerk/offices. The only thing I could find online was proposal that was voted on a year or two ago that wanted to specify min of 5 acres lot size for any livestock. What the outcome of that vote was I've no idea. If you load up all the planning and vision of land use documents the town has online the word "livestock" is not written in any of them. So....that implies to me they voted no and there is no written ordinance.

You'll need to call the town. When doing so make sure they tell you the exact ordinance or guide you to the written word that the answer is no. Don't let them just say no without evidence to back it up. Often town officers have opinions that are not based on fact.
