He was asking for it, tho, and he knows why! Teach him to mess with a woman's post!

I love that the young people are speaking up in this thread.

I love that they are comfortable enough with all of us oldsters to speak up without fear of being berated! I remember being told I was "snot-nosed" and "wet behind the ears" well into my 30's, although I was well-educated and often more knowledgeable than the old timer giving me a hard time.

Good job, young people!

I eat meat - love a good med-rare steak - I don't see a cow/steer; love chicken - could, would not, ever, kill one of my chickens to eat unless starvation was imenient. I love sea food, and have never once thought about the moral issue. When referring to moral issue do you mean some of the deplorable conditions our meat processors have? If so, then I am guilty of burying my head in the sand. I don't watch those horrible things, they haunt me! Does that make me a hypocrite? Probably!

protien is a nessisary sorce of nutrition for your body.
in limmited amounts . eating it exesesivly cant be good ither.
plants have good fats and sugars in them that help your body also! dairy helps build strong bones.
alot of things are used in our daily lives that come from some sort of animal or animal biproducts.. random fact-98% of most cars are made from animal biproducts.. from rubber to glass to metals to paints ... alot... so there are thing that animals are used for besides meat.. that is why i eat meat.. because it is useful

I guess I am a hypocrit(sp) of sorts.
I love a good steak etc. But the thought of raising an animal myself and then eating it makes me cringe. And I went to a Aggie school. It isnt like I dont know how all this works.
As it is my coming girls will be egg laying pets and when they stop producing will be simply: pets. They already have names. I cant eat them EVER. But I also have a freezer full of chicken breasts etc.

Now. One meat I will never eat is horse. That just goes beyond my scope. While I love all animals. horses are my talisman. cant eat them. Heck. Owning chickens might stop me from eating chicken.
Wont my husband be thrilled with THAT!

Why chicken breasts only? Why do we pay so much for the best part when the rest is left to be made into dog food? Something has always bothered me about cherry picking the best parts of a carcass as "suitable for my consumption" while ignoring the rest.

I like the feet! Dim sum style.

Pat, who is by contrast not crazy about the heart, although I'll chop it up and put it in whatever, where I don't notice it individually. My personal thing is beef tongue. <cringe>. Sorry, but the rest of the world is going to have to eat tongue, I'm not helping unless it's the only food left on earth
