With respect, I note that the Bible was written by humans and it's within the realm of possibility that it's innocently colored by their interpretation of meaning....
Taking license exclusively because of something it says is for me not reason enough.

Why not choose the parts we want to eat? I do not eat brains, eyeballs, feet, chitlins, or offal. That doesn't mean it goes to waste. Something will eat it when I bury it..I also do not eat feathers, fur, or hide, but that doesn't mean it isn't used....

I wasn't trying to turn them into humans by any means. LOL. I eat them, if I turned them into humans I would be cannabalistic! Someone made the comment that any processing of animals involves pain and fear, I was only agreeing but pointing out that any kind of life involves pain and fear. My chickens do not "love" me by any means, I am simply the food-wagon. The follow the horses around all day, doesn't mean they love the horses, just means they are just waiting for a meal. LOL I think you misunderstood my post and message. I probably should have quoted a few people that I was replying in respect to.

I love that they are comfortable enough with all of us oldsters to speak up without fear of being berated! I remember being told I was "snot-nosed" and "wet behind the ears" well into my 30's, although I was well-educated and often more knowledgeable than the old timer giving me a hard time.
Good job, young people!
And the young people writing are good writers and articulate!
I eat meat because it tastes good! LOL!!!! Honestly, regardless of what some people think, I believe meat is healthy for me, although, just like everything, must be taken in moderation. It's never a healthy idea to consume too much of one thing! As far as morals go, I have always believed certain animals are for our consumption. Even before I got into Christianity I believed this way, for the simple reason that humans are at the top of the food chain and it seems that everything serves the purpose of sustaining us. Of course there are many other factors involved, but at a glance it seems that way. I believe that although it may be wrong to treat animals inhumanely before slaughtering them, if I cannot raise my own food I will eat what I can get even if it's from a supermarket shelf. I would prefer to raise my own so I know my food is cared for with respect, but if I can't do that then I'm stuck with store bought meat.

When I was in Asia I was served some sweet and sour chicken, when I grab my chopsticks and took some it turned out to be feet, not really that fond of but I nibbled on them.

LOL. Did you try to use them as chopsticks? *pictures someone eating sweet and sour chicken with chicken feet* Sorry the imaging kinda tickled me, I know I couldn't have helped but play with my food in that case...
