Is it necessary to close the coop door every night

If it was heat related and she drank a lot, but didn't eat much that could account for the green. Sometimes when the stomach is empty they poo out bile. That's why it's important to recheck when you know she's eating normal.

Coop door: if there are no openings that are greater than the size of a quarter, it should be ok to leave the coop open to the run at night. Nice coop and run BTW.

Runny poo: When chickens are hot, they drink a lot and poo it out to help cool themselves off. Has it been hot?

She is eating normally and it has been in the upper 80's and very humid. She and the other 2 have spent most of the last 2 days inside the coop even though the run is very shaded. I think they are hot. And I just happened that I was out there when this one was produced but as far as I can tell the other 2 are pooing normally! I will keep a check on it for a couple of days! Thank you all for responding!! I love this group. It is very helpful!

I've read on here some people freeze water bottles for their run. They say their chickens will lay next to it. Here we free range and add cooler snacks plus extra water stations near shaded areas. Sometimes I'll leave the big door (people size) open for the day and open the windows to air it out a bit.
