I had always heard you weren't supposed to feed raw eggs to dogs, something about the whites had an enzyme that interfered with the absorbtion of botin, resulting in very dry skin and coat. HOWEVER, having said that.....years ago we had a sheltie, that became quite an acomplished egg thief. When a hen cackled, I would literally have to race that dog to the nest box....with her four legs against my two, she often won....lol.
and she grew the most beautiful coat, and looked better than the other dogs, that ate the eggs I boiled for them.
Funny thing about DeeDee(the sheltie) was she wouldn't egg the shells....she would always open the egg on the pointed end, and lick and suck the egg out..lol. She would try and stash the evidence, and I would often find stashes here and there around the yard where she would pile the empty egg shells....lol. The first time I got all excited thinking I had found a hidden hen's nest, only to discover the eggs where empty with little neatly chewed holes in the pointed end.....lol...it was real hard to stay mad at that dog.
Sorry for rambling on, but your question took me down memory lane.
