Is it OK to feed raw pork to my chickens?

One with which I agree!

For the record, Trichinosis is exceedingly rare in modern pork supplies. The only thing I would be concerned about is salmonella, but I'm not sure how prevalent that is in pigs.

Trichinosis seems to be pretty uncommon in pork these days. I would have no problem using it raw if I knew the hogs were raised in a clean environment (USDA regulations are good enough for me) and not fed raw meat that could be contaminated. ....

Swine like chickens are omnivores and they become infected with parasite larva from eating things that they find in a free range environment. And anyway the original question specifically named pork fat. Trichinosis is specific to muscle tissue, but not to pork fat.
My chickens would have to pry every last morsel of pork that they eat from my cold dead fingers.

YES, YES AND YES! Been doing it for decades. Raise hogs too and when there is left over fat (after rendering my lard) I freeze and bag HUGE chunks of fat. I'll go in and throw them a chunk....they free range and do NOT get feed so this is a treat for them. I also throw hog heads to them (chickens LOVE maggots) You can also take heads, fat, left overs of hog and toss it in a bucket with a lid. Poke holes in the lid of the bucket and flies will get in but not out. They lay eggs...produce maggots....maggots crawl out and chickens gobble them up.
And to the people who say you can't? Let me tell you guys what, that crap you buy in the feed store and give to your chickens? Has more crap and chemicals in it then those maggot filled buckets. And you have problem giving your animals gmo crap but your worried about pork raised on a farm? If you don't understand that then your too dumb to pour pee out a boot with directions on the heal
. And if they ain't healthy maybe you ought to let them free range and do what comes natural!

I know that cooked meat is OK, but what about raw meats? We have a lot of raw pork fat and I was going to give it to them in small portions, but I want to be sure that that's OK. Thanks!

P.S. Our chickens are Australorps if that means anything.
I'm assuming you're in the States? In the UK it is illegal to feed any meat product to chickens used to produce anything for human consumption....even in your own backyard chooks!
