.So I was just wondering if its ok to have some tuxedos, browns and whites together?I just bought 24 eggs from this guy at a poultry fair foronly $2. I thought it was a great deal until I opened the cartons, 6 were broken

and I didnt even bother to check until after we were home. So now I have 18 eggs in the bator and im on day 6. And another question,do tuxedos and whites lay the same amount of eggs as the browns do?

Ok this is just what I have read and someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the colors make any difference. They are all still the same kind of quail just different colors. I also think that they will lay the same, but again could be wrong. Hope this helps. As to what colors you will have if you breed them I don't know and someone else can tell you. Hope this helps! and Welcome back!

yes they all lay the same ..a Coturnix is a Coturnix is a Coturnix...no matter the color.Yes to keeping all together too, however, alot of people keep them together by color.

Mine have been all mixed together all year, and I'm getting some interesting mixes. There have been browns with white wing feathers, whites with gold markings, and even a tibetan that looks blue. I've also got one here that looks like a brown tuxedo, and at least one other person has one from my eggs that looks just like him. Keeping them sorted by color allows you to know (more or less) what colors will hatch, but mixing them together is fun

I really dont mind the mixing I think it will be interesting to see the different colors. But I really want to raise some for meat so are you saying that they will all be the same size too?
