Is it ok to kill pest birds like finches and doves that eat your feed

I can’t really relate. I feed all the birds on my property, the more the merrier. It’s never really crossed my mind to torture animals or birds.

Again, not judging you or telling you what to do, but there is a "hunting season" for mourning doves and they are not in season. So, think about it.

It’s not something I would go around telling people, I think. It’s probably not going to get you a lot of dates on Saturday nights.

Well, I do not really know why you are replying that to me. I am not the OP. But, I am not judging him or telling him what he can or cannot do. I was just sharing some info with him that apparently he is not aware of and he can make his on decision based on that if he so chooses or he cannot.
But, I will say I have done my fair share of hunting and I have been dove hunting. As far as getting you dates on Sat. night?? Well, it will not necessarily keep you from getting dates on Sat. night or any other night of the week. A lot of people hunt both male and female. Everyone does not feel exactly the way you do about things. Just saying.

I don’t know. I’ve never heard of such a thing, harming tiny wild yard birds. I feed them with feeders. Try and find constructive outlets during your 10 minutes on earth.

You don't need to cover in chicken wire. You can cover in aviary netting, which is different. I have a 50'x100' run and it only cost me about $100 to cover the entire thing. Most people have a much smaller run.

Some people don't have all the money to let doves eat all of our chicken food. Or to feed wild birds. FYI.

Chicken feed is not expensive. Bird rescues in my area even donate wild bird seed to people who want it.
