Is it ok to kill pest birds like finches and doves that eat your feed

These pest birds are starlings, one of the 3 non-federally protected birds so I could gas them in their sleep, posin chicken feed left outside the run... etc
The doves you have claimed to pluck tail feathers out and then kill DO have a regulated hunting season.

Do what you will, but were I you, I would not expect others here to condone your actions. You have been given several alternatives, non of which seem suitable to you.

You were claiming they were doves earlier, which are native and protected and look quite different than starlings

Bird netting is expensive thought. Where I live in AZ, it could cost up to 300 USD for chicken wire all over my coop. I knew those damn doves would be back. Besides, Doves are not even native to the US. They came here all because 3 doves escaped a pet shop in the Caribbean.

Hope that you find this helpful. The site goes into non-lethal ways of dealing with birds you don't want to have around.

"All wild birds (except pigeons, English sparrows and starlings) are protected by federal and state laws. You may not trap, kill or possess protected species without federal and state permits.

The first step in solving your wild bird problem is to identify the bird and what's attracting it. Your goal is to remove what attracts the bird, or build a barrier between the bird and what it finds so attractive."

Also, there are many kinds of doves. Mourning Doves, for instance are native:
