Is it ok to use a lizard heat lamp for Silkie chicks

I got some silkies they are a week old and all the stores in my area even tractor supply is out of heat lamps I have no other options for heating my brooder other than using a lizard lamp is that ok

What do you mean by lizard lamp? Do you mean a heat bulb meant for reptiles? The bulb I use for my indoor brooding is a 100 watt red bulb made for use with reptiles.

Make sure any bulb you use does not have any kind of shatter proof coating.

What color is the light? I used a lizard/terrarium heat lamp for my chicks, if it’s a red light it’s ok, just make sure you properly space the heat lamp from the brooder floor(18 inches)
