Is it ok to wash hens clutch of eggs?

This works for our ants here in Germany, but I do not know the kind of ants @Creciaa10 is dealing with. They might as well need something stronger to keep them away.
Where i am there are fire ants, but even worse are the "rasberry crazy ants", a fairly recent invasive species arrival even more aggressive and deadly than fire ants. (Crazy ants actually kill fire ants). It was crazy ants that attacked the hatching chick last summer. And they definitely go for egg yolk. Ive been stung by them when i picked up a broken egg they were swarming. Crazy ants are much smaller than fire ants, but their sting was even more painful. I looked up the OP's location, but they didnt list one. If in texas or southern u.s., im guessing rasberry crazy ants were the culprits in the nest box.
