Is it ok

You can even go with more space-saving sizes.

I had to go back to the chick waterer with my 4 hens when freezing temperatures arrived. Indoor space was limited and the waterer had to sit almost under the ladder to the nest box - not an ideal location but . . . That one-quart thing suffices for a day.

During warm weather, they each drank about 1 pint a day or more each. So, I use a larger waterer but it is outdoors.

The small feeder is still the same - all of 2 quarts. Full, it will last them 2 days if necessary.

In fact, these sizes for 4 hens (2 quart feeder, 1 quart waterer) are only for an "if necessary" situation - especially, that small of a water container. inattention = suffering birds.
