Is it okay to put lotion on a dry comb? If so, what type?

Hi,
My 3 chickens are molting and their combs are very dry. Is it okay to put lotion or oil on them? And what type would be best, if any?

Coconut oil wouldnt hurt them and it would moisturize them. But if your up north (i live in texas so i dont know what LA like) or it cold (freezing) i would but vaseline on the combs after words to help protect them from the cold.

I like Bag Balm and it also helps against frost bite. But coconut oil is a wonderful all round moisturizer and healing agent.

You can find bag balm behind the pharmacy counter at target. I don't think PetSmart has any...at least not mine
