Hi, I'm new to this, and have purchased 2 Ida browns and 2 astralorps... 3 of them seem to be growing at the same rate- except one of the black ones comb has stopped growing??
I will try to post 2 pics to compare the two different Chooks who are the same age.

Sorry- I had trouble and ended up loading too many... I also wonder if they are not both australorpes??? Or is one a rooster?? Help!!

The second bird doesn't look like an australorp- maybe it's a mix. Could it be the other bird is a cockerel and this one is a hen. Two Crows will probably be coming on later in the morning. She would know, she raises some beautiful australorps.

It better be a female! We have restrictions in residential areas here and only hens aloud! My friend said it looks like her bantam.
To be honest it does not act like the others and is the only 1/4 that does not jump the fence- acts extremely skittish too.

Welcome to BYC!

I agree with Drumstick Diva. The first bird could be a cockerel, but the one in question on the comb looks like a young pullet. Too young to have a big comb yet.

You can post pics in our What Breed and Gender section for help with breed and sexes...

Great to have you aboard and welcome to our flock!
