Is it possible for chicks to eat too much grit?

I just gave my chicks (8 wks old) access to a run and so I also just have them access to chick grit. They seems to be eating more of it than I imagined they would. They have tons of food at all times and grass and dirt and bugs. Should I be worried about too much grit or is that not a thing?

They can gorge on it and block their crops.
Had that happened here so stopped offering in a dish and just toss some out in the run once in while.

Thank you. I guess that’s what I’ll do. The chick grit is incredibly tiny. Not sure how much they need

Not much is needed.
At 8 weeks they can have bigger sized grit:

x2, unless these are unusually small birds (some bantam breeds) they should be on pullet/grower grit at this point.
