Is it possible to re-introduce roosters?

Hi,

I basically hatched 5 eggs in November last year and weirdly enough they were all boys. One started fighting another at a young age so I split them into 2 groups. The two groups are great with one another without hens, with only slight squabbling you’d probably see between hens anyway.

Anyway, I have recently had to move house and I took them in the car with me; they were split into 2 carriers and were perfectly fine the whole way. They were even fine when I let each group separately run around the garden.

The next day my mum let them out early for me, however 2 roosters in the group of 3 started fighting when they ran out (they have never fought before) and I honestly don’t know what set them off. So, one rooster gets along with the other two, but those two hate each other.

It’s such a shame because they seemed so happy.

It’s been about 2 days now and I’ve separated one at a time and put them in different cages at a time. Is there any possible way I could reintroduce them back together? I would love to get hens for them so they had something else to think about but I just don’t have the space and I’m not sure if it would work. I can’t bear letting any go.

Thanks for any help.

Can you try and describe their fighting? Fighting is normal to establish the pecking order, both roosters and hens do it. However, problems arise when they won’t stop fighting, or it devolves into one rooster beating up on another rooster who doesn’t fight back.
