WOW! Such a beautiful little one. ❤️ Looking forward to seeing more as he/she grows.
Here's a few more. 8 days old. Miracle is growing so fast. The hen is getting more aggressive with me unfortunately. She did the wing drop thing like the rooster. She jumps at me.. she bites me. She was never like this and was perfect with me the first few days after hatch. She's maybe forgetting I bring her food and water and dirt lol or the heat and humidity getting to her. Poor girl.

Awwwww 🥰. Yay Miracle! Sweet little baby and growing so fast! I see a very happy chick with mama and siblings. Adorable photos. Thank you so much for the update! It sounds like mama is in total protective mode. The fireworks probably have her more frazzled than she already would’ve been anyhow (being a new mama). Hopefully she’ll calm down for you soon, so you can hold those cuties. ❤️

Updated pictures of Miracle. Just shy of 2 weeks old. I thought she might be a fast feathering female but...she is growing faster than all of them and I see the comb raising a lot. My hopes may have been dashed. I have mom and babies inside because the heat and humidity has been unacceptable. Plus the fireworks. She's been very happy to be in air conditioning. Miracle isn't thrilled to be handled here so we can only hold her/him? for just a couple minutes to get pictures. My husband hasn't seen Miracle in awhile so he was happy to hold the little cutie.

Miracle is adorable! 🥰 It’s great to see him/her doing so well. And, look at those pretty feathers growing in. Mama and chicks are “livin’ the life” inside during the heatwave, being spoiled rotten!

Miracle just over 3 weeks old. It has been sweltering here. Humidity is through the roof. Mom and chicks did ok most of the day but tonight they were trying to pile together in the nest box and it was entirely too hot. It's still 100 on the heat index after dark. They can not sleep like that. The poor chicks were peeping and miserable.

The chicks can all now navigate the big chicken ramps between the coop and run. Mom has been taking them back and forth. Unfortunately the rest of the adult flock has been bullying the mother hen. She's back at the bottom of the pecking order. She runs away from the flock. Now I'm trying to integrate 3 "flocks". I tried putting my 6 week chicks with the mom and babies together in the run and coop space and mom just tried to attack my 6 week old chicks. That didn't work. So much work trying to integrate everyone. Then add in the intense heat and humidity and chickens often end up inside with AC. This is chicken madness until everyone stays in 1 flock.

That’s Miracle in the photos? Wow, such beautiful feathering. 🥰 I know how you’re feeling about trying to integrate everybody. I feel really bad for mama being picked on, when all she wants is to be back with the flock. It can be a long process combining all 3 into one. Hang in there… I know, easier said than done. We’ve been experiencing the high heat too, and that just makes it miserable for everybody. “Baby steps” with the integration to keep them all from getting too stressed in that heat. Keep them separate a while longer and continue to try different ways to integrate them a little at a time.
