I spoil my broodies. Its ridiculous. Once they go broody, they are moved to a seperate hutch and given eggs. Its WAY too hard to break them, so I just use them instead (much to the dismay of the DH)
BUT....BUT BUT BUT.... They are not just moved, they get scrambled eggs and mozzerella cheese for treats, cuz my one Silkie almost sat herself to death, not eating, not drinking, etc. So I have gotten into the habit of spoiling my broodies rotten.
I know it would be my own fault, but.... are chickens able to realize that they get it even better than usual if they go broody? I HATE the fact that I am constantly dealing with these broody hens, but is it also nice to always have a free incubator at my disposal ( again, to the DHs dismay)
I mean, are chickens even cognitively capable enough to make a connection like that? Go broody and I get a spa vacation for a month and a half?
