Is it safe for my Rouen duck to be laying 3 eggs a day?

I only have 1 female Rouen and she has started laying a few day ago and every day we get three eggs from her, is that safe for her? Do I need to give her something with extra nourishment since she is laying so many?

I am really hoping someone chimes in on this. 3 eggs a day sounds a little odd. How many ducks in total do you have? I have had ducks for 12 years now and NEVER saw that happen. Interesting to hear the answer.

Are you sure that two of your males are not actually girls? I just cannot imagine that you are getting 3 eggs from one hen. And I hope she is safe, that is a recipe for disaster if they are over breeding her. Is she separated from them so they cannot do that? 3 drakes could easily hurt or kill a lone hen.

Also as Veronicasmom said, 3 drakes to 1 duck is a recipe for disaster. Do any other birds have access to this area to be laying? any pics.. we love to see the birds!

I am sure my there are three males and 1 female as the males have green heads and a blues spot on there wings and my hen is all brown, I am planning to go out and take some pics soon. We do have chicken but they all lay brown eggs and there eggs aren't that big.

The one female needs you to protect her. We have seen many stories of terribly injured or drowned ducks when there are too many drakes per duck. Not to scare you, but to protect her and prevent heartache.

I'm keeping an eye on her, there still young and not the horniest yet, I search Craigslist a lot looking for some more females but there always out of my price range, I am getting more females from my local feed store as soon as they start ordering them, if worst comes to worst, I guess I'll have duck in my freezer.

We don't mean to sound overbearing, but waiting for the ducklings to be big enough to be in with your girl might be a bit too long to keep her safe. Can you somehow separate two of the boys out and just leave her with one drake? Even if they are not mating right now, I assume you cannot watch every minute and it just take a second for the hormones to kick in and for them to want to mate. Personally, I still think one drake and one hen is not great, but I did it for a bit when I lost one of hens. However, my drake is pretty laid back and he was not constantly after her. But I got a second hen as soon as I could. Now he has 8 girls, so everyone is safe!! If you can put the most mellow one with her and keep her safe till the babies are big enough, that would be good.
