Is it safe to feed rice with bugs in it to the chickens?

We opened a bag of rice tonight and there were these tiny little bugs in it. They aren't ants. Would it be safe for my chickens to the rice? We won't eat 'cause it of the bugs, and chickens eat bugs anyway, but I don't know if the bugs would be harmful to them or not. What bugs are harmful to chickens (if any) and what would they look like?

Yes, It's safe for the chickens to eat. They'll love the "extra" flavor.

Safe for you too if you need the extra protien. lol

We had those little bugs in our rice once, they are called " Rice Bugs " , not their scientific name though.

You can freeze the rice and it will kill the bugs. My daughter works at a health food store and this is what she does, then she brings it here along with other stuff that goes to the chickens or in the compost. I have one can that I have a mix of rice, sunflower seeds, chicken scratch, oat groats, etc.
