Three weeks ago when I went to henhouse I found my rooster , he's one year old, laying on his side unable to stand. Removed
him to separate pen. For 8 days he could not stand at all, but continued to eat and drink. After the eighth day he started trying to stand but one foot is partially twisted. He now is up and running around just fine but foot is still twisted. Two questions: any idea what
could have caused this? Do you think it would be alright to return him to the flock.....he sure misses his girls.

he can be returned to the flock no clue as to what it could be, but he already was around the girls when he got sick so they already were introduced to whatever he may have had or has.

Welcome to BYC. It sounds like he may have broken or sprained his leg or foot. I would give him poultry vitamins in his water in case he has a vitamin deficiency. Can you post a picture of him standing with his crooked foot? A splint might help with some caution. I'm glad that he is back on his feet, and continues to improve.
