I have 3 ducklings hatching today. This is my 4th hatch. I’ve been really good about not opening the incubator for lock down. They were supposed to hatch yesterday. One is out. This one was rocking back and forth like crazy. It kept making pip holes but wasn’t really zipping. It’s been 36 hours and I decided to peel back the shell really quick. It looks like the membrane is drying up. I’ve never helped a chick out but do you think this one is appropriate too? I want it to do it itself but I feel like he’s stuck. The only reason there’s a hole is because I made one out of the cracked area he hadn’t moved much all day

So he's been externally pipped for 36 hours and hasn't made much progress?

Ducks are slow hatchers, so he might just need more time, since they can take up to 48 hours between the pip and the zip, but if you want to carefully open the air cell to see what's going, it won't hurt anything. You can follow the guide I wrote about how to safely do this in this article:

Thank you! That guide was really helpful. I didn’t know the yawning/ chewing was it still absorbing. It appears like that’s what he’s still doing. I caused the slightest bit of blood in one spot. That shouldn’t cause him to bleed out right? I will leave him be for the night and hope he progresses.

No, a tiny bit of blood shouldn't cause him trouble. Sounds like he just needs some more time :)
